"I Was Not Built to Break"

Ms. Houston said it best on her final album.

The song "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" always hits me. If you haven't heard it, I'd highly encourage you to take a listen.

We all have our "coming out of the ashes" moment, but my god, what did we go through to HAVE that moment?

Your strength is not lost in this beautiful world, and your strength is not lost in your story. The most rewarding part of coaching for me is having the opportunity to connect with a soul who I know has been and IS going "through it."

I often find that we each believe we're suffering alone- that what we're experiencing is ONLY in our lives. People couldn't possibly understand, right?

Wrong.

That notion in itself is a universal experience. Please, PLEASE know that you are never alone in this journey. Your own darkness cannot grow in the light- thus, your pain will dissolve when you open up to others. Notice how difficult it is to be vulnerable, but my goodness, notice how freeing it is.

So, as you have your "rising from the ashes" moment (because you've declared it to be so, and yes, you DO have autonomy over your life), now comes the moment...

What's next?

Well, what IS next?

Here's my question: Can you allow this rebirth you're experiencing to be the catalyst for this next chapter, one that is completely different from what you expected?

Not only release your expectations, but release the vision for a bit. Allow yourself to walk where you ARE. Your beautiful intuition isn't going anywhere. In fact, it will only strengthen.

No, you weren't built to break, but you also weren't built to hold all of this up on your own.

Today, I'd like to give you permission to free yourself from the burden of needing to "make it happen."

Let's hold off on that. Today, we relish in the beautiful sunrise that you experience upon first rising from the ashes. Embrace it's glory, and relish in the excitement of what we do not know is to come.
